Energy Essentials: Understanding Oil & Gas

This course provides an introduction to the dynamic world of oil and gas, tailored specifically for non-specialists. It begins with an exploration of the historical context, focusing on the development and significance of the oil and gas industry, particularly in Kuwait. Participants will gain insights into the key sectors of the industry: the upstream sector, where they will learn about exploration and production processes; and the midstream and downstream sectors, which cover the critical stages of refining and distribution. The course also highlights the significant role of Kuwait’s major oil companies, collectively known as K companies, in both the local and global oil markets. Looking forward, the course will discuss evolving trends towards sustainability and technological innovations in the energy sector. Practical applications of the course content will equip participants with the essential knowledge needed to effectively interact with industry specialists and navigate the complexities of the oil and gas sector.
